2003 will be a year to remember for Ray-Ban, the brand born in USA that since 1937 has been the symbol of authenticity in eyewear. This year marks the birth of the first collection of Ray-Ban optical frames.

After 66 years of unchallenged success, Ray-Ban, which gave us models like the Wayfarer and the unforgettable Aviator (today recognised as a fully-fledged legend), presents to the public for the first time a collection especially designed for optical lenses.
For the first time, therefore, we have a line of frames to meet the needs of those who would like to wear Ray-Ban eyewear continually.

As a result, a worldwide advertising campaign designed to launch Ray-Ban’s “Optical Collection” will be based – through its effective images – on those same values of authentic style and freedom, which are at the foundation of the Ray-Ban brand itself.
Main characters of these three images will be “glances”, seen for the first time through transparent lenses, which allow “eye-talk”: three master portraits by Christophe Kutner, the French photographer known for his shots of great models in magazines like Vogue, D-Magazine, L’Officiel and for having left his mark on Versace and Givenchy advertisements.
In Kutner’s portraits for this Ray-Ban campaign, the most significant items in the collection stand-out on a very bright red background, a color that has always been associated – through its logo – to the Ray-Ban myth.
On a background of such pure and bright color, “portraits of glances” are going to stand-out as a sophisticated representation of Ray-Ban’s authentic and genuine values, always renovated and never denied.
Like all the Ray-Ban sunglasses models, Ray-Ban frames are designed for those who do not seek confirmation in the things they choose, but rather choose only what best emphasises the most genuine aspects of their personality.
These, in fact, are the values that have inspired the Ray-Ban optical collection launch campaign. A new range of glasses that brings out the personality of the wearer.
This is why, after 1937, the year the first Aviator sunglasses were produced, 2003 is expected to be another historical year for Ray-Ban.
